Web Design
When it comes to working within a digital framework my experience and skills includes: web design, information architecture, wireframing, prototyping, product development as well as ui/ux design. This collection will highlight a variety of web sites I have developed as a freelance designer.
Headwaters
Landlord Association
Located here in Bemidji, Minnesota the Headwaters Landlord Association approached me with an opportunity to develop a new website after losing access to their pre-existing one. Requests for their new site included: a need for a simple and straightforward way to provide users with current issues, tenant applications, and HLA membership information. In addition to these forward facing needs, the client was also seeking to include a members-only area for users looking to join the association. This would allow for private access to meeting minutes, archives, current agendas, and the ability to create member profiles.
My solution was to develop a site using the Squarespace platform as it is very easy for users to update and maintain. The client previously expressed a desire for the ability to make their own edits. For the members-only component I chose to implement a tool from MembershipWorks, this successfully allowed me to integrate a membership portal and additional members-only areas of the site.
Lärkk Equipment
Lärkk Equipment launched their online shop in August of 2019. As a manufacturer of outdoor gear they needed a way to sell and market their products online as well as publish creative content. My solution for this web project was to create a Squarespace business site. The decision to go with Sqaurespace over popular options like Shopify was rooted mainly in monthly costs, but also was informed by the reality of the ecommerce needs for a small shop. Squarespace ultimately offered a better product to balance all of the needs within the project.
With a fully responsive and mobile friendly site Lärkk’s audience (most of which are mobile users) can easily interact and shop online as they navigate from social media channels to www.larkk-equipment.com.
Trading Dummies
When the owners of Trading Dummies first approached me they were in need of a website to advertise their training program regarding market trading. At the time, their membership program was managed using private Telegram channels. Eventually as the program grew the client struggled to manage subscribers and membership fees. Due to budget constraints the client ultimately needed a simple and straightforward solution to manage their member list.
Taking into account the project details, I provided a solution to meet their requirements and budget by building a clean, modern and mobile responsive website. To solve the subscription issue I decided to created a simple email newsletter campaign using Mailchimp. Allowing Trading Dummies to build an organized list to keep track of their membership sign-ups, fees and renewals.
